Aslak Haanshuus is one of 6 architects presented in this falls season of “The Architect’s Home” at NRK, Norways national broadcaster.

NRK’s review of the program:

Architects create wonderful homes and cottages for others – but what does their own homes and resorts look like? Charlotte Thiis-Evensen visits our foremost architects to experience spectacular buildings, and talk about what is needed to create good homes and cabins. In season 1 – 3 it is about home, in season 4 it is about the cabin.

Architect Aslak Haanshuus grew up on Røros, drawing cabins inspired by the simplicity and the raw expression of log buildings in Femundsmarka National Park. Old-fashioned techniques meet modern architecture in his projects, and now he has just bought his own cottage in Telemark. An old wooden house, which requires extensive refurbishment.
